Real estate broker June Young said she knew last summer that the industry wasn't going to rally quickly, so she decided to plunge back into a field she had practiced for two decades: bookkeeping.
"When your industry goes away you have to find a new industry," she said, matter-of-factly. In hindsight, Young said she probably should have stuck with bookkeeping, but the move three years ago from Willis, CA, a small town near Santa Rosa, inspired her to begin a new career as she embraced her new community.
"I have been a full-charge bookkeeper for 20 years," Young said. By "full-charge" she means she is knowledgeable about every aspect of bookkeeping. She has taken the financial reins of credit unions and car dealerships as well as managed finances for a multitude of businesses, including general contracting.
